Stormy Skies Sculptural Art Bowl Set

This a set of one-of-a-kind beautiful, abstract, fused glass art bowls. These sculptural bowls do not have a flat bottom so which creates movement when touched but they are perfectly balanced for display.  These bowls were made with a clear glass base and glass powders in white, cream, and a beautiful blue accent color. The design is hand-created an no two are the same. Decorative use. Hand wash only.

About the process.
After firing to get the desired design, the bowl was made using what is called a 'drop out' vessel. It is made by placing a fused glass blank over a flat mold (which has a hole in the center) and firing it in a kiln. The glass slumps down through the hole to create the bowl form. This process needs to be closely monitored to get the desired shape. Once cooled, the bowl is cut off from the glass ring left behind in the process, and the edges are carefully ground and polished.
