These hearts have been totally handcrafted. The wood is salvaged/reclaimed solid wood; it has been meticulously cleaned; each heart is drawn and cut by hand by me before being sanded by hand until smooth.
Over several hours, layers of wax, stain and paints are layered and sanded to achieve this unique shabby chic, vintage style paint effect.
Starting with a base coat of wax, then red stain, crackle medium, antique white paint; the heart is baked, cooled and sanded before having more layers of antique white, then accents of dark brown, red and gold. A true labor of love.
Your personal choice of wording is digitally produced before being transferred by hand onto the wood using translucent transfer medium. The heart is coated with a poly varnish for a delicate sheen before having your choice of ribbon or twine attached for hanging.
