Sometimes life redirects us with the smallest of signs. For Francesca, it was the scent of a flower, the wild helichrysum, rising from her grandmother’s land in Sardinia. That fragrance led her to create Helysol: skincare rooted in women’s resilience, tradition, and care.

Francesca’s path wasn’t planned. It unfolded, much like the wild plants she now tends. When she first walked through her grandmother’s land in Aggius, a fragrance stopped her: the scent of helichrysum.

Sardinian women have used this plant for centuries as a remedy for skin and spirit, but for Francesca, that moment became something more, it was the beginning of a personal transformation.

She left behind the safety of a conventional career and immersed herself in the study of Sardinia’s medicinal plants. With patience, trial, and intuition, she built what is now Helysol: a line of botanical, cruelty-free skincare that carries both the wisdom of tradition and the clarity of modern science.

The first formulas weren’t designed for beauty counters: they were created for care. Inspired by her father, an oncologist, Francesca began making ointments to soothe the fragile skin of women recovering from surgery and radiotherapy. From that act of compassion, her work has grown into a full collection of natural remedies and skincare rituals.

Today, together with her twin brother and an all-female lab, she hand-harvests and distills helichrysum, hypericum, and rosa damascena. Every product is local, sustainable, and deeply connected to the land. For Francesca, skincare isn’t just about appearance. It’s about resilience, ritual, and the courage to feel whole again.
